Few companies can boast a prouder history than that of Wisdom Toothbrushes, based in Haverhill for more than 50 years. Established over 200 years ago as Addis Limited, its founder, William Addis, is credited as the inventor of the modern toothbrush. The business remained in the ownership of the Addis family until 1996.

The company is now the largest manufacturer of toothbrushes in the UK, with around one-third of production being exported to countries as diverse as Australia, the US, Bolivia and the Czech Republic.
